The Athletics training tonight Monday 9th August is cancelled.
PLEASE NOTE! Training tonight Monday 2nd August is cancelled.
Well done to all our athletes who competed in the above competitions. Unfortunately the weather for the QuadKids was an absolute stinker as we had truly awful weather for most of it. Despite the weather our youngsters gave it their all, thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we are all very proud of them.
The County Champs couldn't have been more different weather-wise. The sun shone and we had some great performances and a good haul of medals!
Please note that we are delighted to announce that the club has secured a new training venue with immediate effect.
The new venue is Lavington School's large sports field which is situated on the opposite side of the road to the main school buildings about 100m away on the opposite side of the road. The track is very nicely laid out for running and the long jump pit is ok for training for the time being. Our training days and timings remain unchanged as do the session fees.
Park in the Main School car park ( under no circumstances park out on the main road as we do not want to inconvenience the local residents)
Walk back out to the main road and TURN LEFT
Walk about 100m along the road until you see a small turning over the road on the right hand side.
Cross over the road and walk down this path onto the field.
No water etc on site at the moment but these will be available fairly soon.
We are very much looking forward to developing our partnership with Lavington School and hope to encourage new members from among their pupils.
Tonight's training session is cancelled. The ground is soaking wet and slippery and I can't risk those doing the County Champs this Saturday hurting themselves. The forecast for Thursday looks much more promising. Please check this website for any change of venue.
Well done all our young ones who ran, jumped and threw in some horrendous weather conditions at times at Swindon in the Wiltshire QuadKids competition. You all did your very best and can be as proud of yourselves as we all are.
